Quilting with Rulers
Ruthann shared her experience in regard to quilting with rulers. Some things to remember regarding quilting with rulers.

  • Quilting rulers are usually 3/8” to ¼” thick.

  • Quilting with a ruler requires a special free motion presser foot. This special foot has sides that are 3/8” to ¼” high. This is to help prevent jumping over the ruler thus breaking a needle or possibly harming the timing of your machine.

  • Quilting with rulers is a type free motion quilting in that you can move the quilt in any direction that suits your design. It is done with feed dogs down.

  • When quilting with a ruler the stitching line is ¼” from your ruler.

If you want more information regarding quilting with rulers below are some good resources to explore.
